Role Purpose

Provide strategic direction for the development and execution of the FAW and Group Insurance Portfolio business’ functions aligned to the strategic intent of Momentum Corporate. The aim is to ensure an integrated, full value chain business portfolio which offers relevant, easy to understand product solutions, superior client value and experience supported by efficient processes and systems.
Requirements
- Post graduate degree in Actuarial Science or other relevant qualification e.g. CA (SA), CFA, MBA, etc.
- Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) or Institute or Faculty of Actuaries (UK) or relevant registration to a Professional Body will be an advantage
- 10+ Years' of experience within the Employee Benefits environment
- Exposure to business management across a variety of products, markets and industries
- 5+ Years' product development and management experience
- 5+Years' leadership experience on a senior level
- Experience in sales & distribution will be an advantage
Duties & Responsibilities
- Define vision and strategy for the business and develop an aligned and full value chain in relation to the organisation’s mandate.
- Drive the growth agenda for the business, increase market share and grow intermediary network.
- Provide the strategic direction for the development of fit-for-purpose product solutions, ensuring that they deliver on the required client experience across the full employee benefits value chain.
- Set the strategic direction for the selection, integration and pricing of product bundles that holistically supports the clients financial wellness needs and CVP.
- Oversee the full value chain product solutions scope within the business.
- Ensure differentiation in the market by building FAW as a flexible, simple and value adding umbrella and risk solution providing superior member flexibility and engagement.
- Ensure that Group insurance solutions are built on market leading risk underwriting and selection capabilities enabled through superior data analytics.
- Drive the optimisation of operational strategies in order to deliver efficiencies and streamline operations in order to ensure the client receives optimal service.
- Identify opportunities to leverage off strategic relationships and alliances to build new channel, distribution or growth opportunities.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of a client engagement strategy in order to provide clarity regarding the parameters to optimally engage and provide services to clients.
- Leverage IT and digital capability in the Momentum Corporate business, providing strategic direction aligned to business needs of the FAW and GI business portfolio.
- Keep abreast of best practices and the competitor landscape in order to enhance service offering and delivery.
- Direct and manage the creation, implementation and maintenance of capabilities, products and solutions in order to diversify product offering and profitability.
- Keep abreast of best practices and competitor landscape in order to inform the development of strategies and tactics that grow and protect our market share.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of competitive pricing strategies to drive profitability, long term business growth and shareholder value.
- Foster effective working relationships and collaborate within the business, client segments and external stakeholders in order to anticipate, meet and exceed client needs.
- Drive the continuous review and enhancement of products solutions to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.
- Implement and sustain a competitive Data analytics and research insights capability for Momentum Corporate to enable the effective use of data in delivering fit for purpose client solutions in a simple and efficient manner.
- Deliver on the earnings and sales targets for the business as well as ensuring the business meets its overall financial objectives
