The Information Technology (IT) Administrator is the technical generalist of the IT department, supporting the ICT technology infrastructure for the organisation and contributing to organisational quality standards.
The Information Technology administrator is directly responsible for the support of technology within the organisation/site. The IT administrator is accountable for the day-to-day IT support of the organisation/site, and will assist the IT manager to support information technology (IT) systems in a manner that improve cost effectiveness and business development. This includes all data centers, technical service centers, production scheduling functions, help desks, communication networks (voice and data), computer program development, and computer systems operations.
The IT Administrator makes recommendation to the IT Manager for continuous improvement initiatives for the support of all information processing and communication systems and operations in his/her area.
The IT administrator adheres to the enterprise's policies and frameworks, which may include but is not limited to King III, ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, ISO9001, ISO/IEC17799, ISO12207 and ISO15504.
Service Providers, Consultants, Solution Architects, EPCM, Project Managers,
Participates as an integral member in the Operational Support of the Wesizwe. Generalist support of the IT Systems in the company in line with the overall operational requirements of the company. Comply with the enterprise systems architecture, maintaining standards and protocols for data exchange, software, and interconnectivity of network information systems.
Support the IT Manager by keeping up to date with industry trends and technology developments, in order to allow appropriate advice, counsel, education and service to be provided to the company concerning IT issues and trends in the IT industry.
Ensures that the gathering, processing, distribution and use of pertinent information required by IT Management occurs in a timely and accurate manner. Participates in operational relationships between the company’s IT resources and external entities (e.g., vendors, researchers, auditors, and other organizations).
Requires a Industry recognised Certification in the area of ICT technical support. At least 2 years of progressive experience in supporting functions and departments dealing with information handling, work flow and systems. Experience in the mining industry is an advantage. At least 2 years of progressive experience in supporting Exchange 2016, Sharepoint 2016, Microsoft Server 2012 and later Roles & Features, SAP, Microsoft office 203 & 2016
Computer hardware and software systems Equipment and software characteristics of various computer systems and a general understanding of system features and their integration capabilities
