Junior IT Technician

**Job Summary**: As a Junior IT Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and network issues. You will work closely with senior IT staff to ensure the smooth operation of the organization's IT infrastructure and provide timely support to end-users.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Technical Support**:

- Provide first-line technical support to end-users, both remotely and on-site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems and software.

**System Maintenance**:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates and patches.
- Assist in monitoring and managing the organization's IT infrastructure.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets.

**User Assistance**:

- Assist end-users with IT-related problems, providing guidance and training when necessary.
- Set up and configure user accounts and profiles.
- Ensure data security and privacy by following established procedures.

**Documentation**:

- Document all support activities, solutions, and configurations.
- Create and update user manuals and technical documentation.

**Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with senior IT staff to implement IT projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.

**Qualifications**:

- Educational background in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (degree or relevant certifications).
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Familiarity with operating systems (Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux).
- A+ and N+
- Networking and Domain set up
- Setting up Active directories
- Experience with troubleshooting and providing support.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Fourways, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
