We are looking for an Local and Cross Border Buyer in Middelburg, Mpumalanga in the mining automation industry.

He / she will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, negotiating and procuring goods and services for the company, both locally and internationally. The individual in this role must have a strong understanding of local and international markers, customs regulations and trade laws.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research and identify potential suppliers, vendors and manufactures for the company’s products and services.

2. Negotiate prices, term and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible value for the money.

3. Manage supplier relationships and contracts, including monitoring supplier performance, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

4. Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the local and cross border markets.

5. Develop and maintain a network of contacts in the industry to stay up to date on market trends, pricing and availability.

6. Ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade laws for cross border transactions, including documentation and reporting requirements.

7. Collaborate with other departments such as logistics, finance and operations to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

8. Manage inventory levels, including for ensure adequate supply.

9. Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize costs and streamline procurement process.

10. Continuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance, cost and quality to ensure continuous improvement. Qualifications and experience

1. Matric/Grade

2. Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or a related field

3. 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain management

4. Cross boarder procurement experience.

Skills Required

1. Strong negotiation and contract management skills

2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

3. In depth knowledge of local and internationally markets, custom regulations and trade laws

4. Ability to work independently and as a team

5. Strong analytical and problem solving skills

6. Computer literate and supply chain management software

7. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
