- R 15 000 - R 35 000 Monthly Cost To Company- A Steel fabricator Company in Meyerton, Gauteng is looking for an Overhead Crane Technician to join their team.

**_ Job Specification_**
- _Install, assemble, and test overhead cranes and other lifting machines and equipment according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards. _
- _Conduct routine service inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues or malfunctions. _
- _Perform repairs and troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of overhead cranes. _
- _Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment. _
- _Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of prescribed personal protective equipment._
- _Ensuring that machinery and equipment is fully locked out and isolated when repairing such equipment or when such equipment is not safe for use._
- _Ensure annual load testing of all lifting machinery and equipment is carried out in accordance with OHSA Driven Machinery Regulation 18._
- _Collaborate with Senior Management and other team members to develop and implement improvement initiatives. _
- _Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to overhead crane maintenance and repair. _
- _Maintain accurate records of:_
- _Work performed;_
- _Maintenance and repair logs;_
- _Inspection schedules and reports;_
- _Lock-out registers; and_
- _Electronic files per equipment/crane._
- _Carry out ad-hoc tasks as and where necessary per request from the Employer._

**_Experience and Qualifications_**
- _High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred. _
- _Proven experience as an Overhead Crane Technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of overhead crane installation, maintenance, and repair. _
- _Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair. _
- _Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to overhead crane operations. _
- _Familiarity with electrical control systems, PLCs, and motor controls. _
- _Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. _
- _Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision. _

**_Additional Requirements_**
- Fluent in English and preferably Afrikaans, Sesotho and Zulu or Xhosa.
- Able to comply with OHS and ISO standards set.
- MS Office proficiency:

- Outlook;
- Word;
- Excel; and
- Teams.
- Experience with or the ability to gain knowledge of Sage Evolution.
- Valid driver’s license and frequent driver.
- Able to climb ladders and working at heights.
- Able to rig and work from scaffolds.
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Able to work outside normal working hours from time to time and work under pressure.
- Physically fit to handle storage, loading and offloading of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
