Seamstress/ Pattern Maker

Seamstress:

- Discussing designs, alterations or repair requirements with customers to ensure that their specifications are met.
- Taking customers’ measurements, using tape measure.
- Accurately recording customers’ measurements, instructions and preferences.
- Attaching labels to customers’ garments to prevent any errors.
- Altering garments to improve comfort and fit.
- Repairing customers’ garments.
- Constructing garments for customers based on their design ideas, specifications and preferences.

Pattern maker:

- Discussing the base designs.
- Reading and interpreting design models and blueprints.
- Creating rough-draft templates using computer drafting software or freehand techniques.
- Measuring, cutting, and designing patterns in the material required.
- Double-checking the pattern dimensions and style.
- Review the final product.
- Tweaking the pattern and filing the design.
- Reporting back to company managers.

**Salary**: From R6,000.00 per month
