Die Cut Machine Operator

Our clients based in Durban a growing print/packaging company require an experienced Die Cutting Machine Operator with precious experience in Printing and Packaging.

DIE CUT - MACHINE SETTER/OPERATOR - R25000

Accountability: Factory Manager / Production Manager

**Machine Maintenance**

Ø To repair / set machine performing complex sequences of operations, and to undertake specific activities by:
1. Checking customer requirements, and setting machine accordingly.

2. Checking setting and devices and activating corrective measures when necessary.

3. Observing readings on visual displays and initiating adjustments as required.

4. Attending to and undertaking routine maintenance activities of machinery you use.

5. Completing a daily check list as required, reporting on condition and status of parts requiring replacement and or repair.

6. To set up a comprehensive maintenance plan, and adhere to it at all times.

7. To ensure machine is fully operational and complies with ALL safety requirements.

Operations:
Ø To familiarise and understand the capabilities of your machine.

Ø To ensure that the machinery is operating to set standards and is operating at Optimal Performance Level without compromising quality and safety standards.

Ø Setting up of machines as per standard procedures.

Ø Adhere, promote, and continuously improve Management and control systems, as laid down by the Quality Management System, namely ISO 9001.

Ø Training of new and existing personnel.

Ø Effective interactions with feeders and packers on the machine, showing them what the acceptable quality is and quantities to pack.

Ø Ensure that the correct materials are being used and that there is sufficient material to complete the job.

Ø Manage waste effectively, by ensuring that waste is reduced to a minimum.

Ø Report breakdown of machinery to management immediately.

Ø To complete all process related documents i.e.Production time sheet and all relevant checklists timeously and accurately daily and submit to office/ clerk.

Ø Ensure there is a work ticket before attempting to run machine. “Do Not Run Without a Work Ticket.

Ø Verify accuracy of jobs by ensuring 1st off samples is checked and signed off by Production Manager, signed samples must be displayed and be easily accessible during the run.

Ø Ensure that the final conforms to customer specifications as per work ticket and approved sample.

Ø Activate counter and run machine, constantly guarding and enforcing both the Quality and Safety standards within the company.

Ø Handle all material with utmost care and respect.

Ø Safekeeping of all tools, measuring and testing equipment.

Ø Log incident reports in real time for action and ensure good shift hand over.

Ø Ensure Dies are maintained and kept safely.

Ø Ensure Dies are labelled and recorded into Die Log Book in sequence. Feedback on the performance of the machine must take place between yourself and management, and the reporting of all this must be initiated by you.

**Requirements**:
Ø Relevant qualification

Ø Minimum 2 years’ experience

Ø Experience in Printing and Packaging Industry

**Salary**: R25,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mount Edgecombe, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
