**Position Summary**:
As part of a team, a Lead Manufacturing Operator works in an assigned operating area on the shift to help deliver organizational and production results in line with the site strategy and specific objectives for the department/team including:

- Safety
- Quality
- Output
- Schedule adherence
- Engagement
- Attendance
- Training and Development

**Responsibilities**:

- All duties of Operators I, II and III including acting as backup and working a line when operational demand requires.
- Supervise
- Lead any Shift efficiently and independently
- Perform Shift Handover
- Supervise the team and ensure that there is a smooth start to the day.
- Ability to lead others by managing time, daily progress, flow of the work and processes.
- Assign PPM tasks to relevant operators and correct operators when plans or processes are not followed.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly conditions and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Corrective actions for safety concerns.
- Administration
- Planning and Production Scheduling
- Data collection & report compilation (incl. Production volumes)
- Control of BPR’s by checking, completion, accuracy and adherence to Good Documentation Procedure.
- Quality Records Monitoring - allocate NCR’s to operators and review NCR’s; CAPA completion
- QMS documentation creation and reviewing.
- Training
- Actively undergo technical and process training as well as competence assessment to be able to troubleshoot and provide support.
- Provide training to new Band I, II & III Operators.
- Promote collaboration, build teamwork and lead by example.
- Complete tasks resourcefully & effectively to support the departments Goals and KPI’s.
- Adhoc duties may be assigned.
- Support Production Manager.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to compile routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before the team or employees of the company.
- Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
- Physical Demands

- Is frequent required to walk and to stand.
- Must use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hand and arms; climb or balance, push and pull; stoop or kneel; talk and hear.
- Must regularly lift and /or move product in bulk volumes.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Senior Certificate
- Knowledge of Aseptic Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment
- Qualification/Knowledge in Biotechnology/ Microbiology environment will be highly advantageous.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)

**Minimum Experience Level**:

- 5 - 7 years’ relevant experience in an aseptic manufacturing environment with at least 2 years experience in a technical supervisory role.
