**Position**: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

**Location**: Cape Town, Western Cape

**Salary**: R800 K - R1.2 MIL

**Job Summary**:

- Seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team.
- You would be overseeing the development and implementation of financial management systems for our expanding business operations.
- You will be responsible for ensuring the financial health and stability of the organization while driving strategic financial planning and analysis across multiple jurisdictions.
- This is a high-impact position that requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and deep expertise in financial management in the African market, as well as experience with international taxation and offshore investment opportunities.
- The position is being offered as a 2 -year contract and is suited for an experienced individual who is looking to support a legacy in the development sector.
- The position can be home-based or at our offices in South Africa, and is likely to include travel up to 20% time.

**Responsibilities**:
**Financial Strategy and Planning**:

- Develop and implement strategic financial plans for network of companies
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify opportunities for growth, cost optimization, and risk mitigation specific to each country's market dynamics.
- Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making in diverse African markets.

**Financial Management Systems Development and Implementation**:

- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of robust financial management systems across the network of companies in multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure the integration and standardization of financial processes, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy while accommodating country-specific regulations and requirements.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate financial software and tools to support financial operations in each country.

**Budgeting and Forecasting**:

- Lead the annual budgeting process for each country, working closely with local department heads and business unit leaders to develop accurate and realistic budgets.
- Monitor and analyse budget performance regularly, providing insights and recommendations to optimize resource allocation in each country.
- Develop financial forecasts based on market trends, industry analysis, and internal business factors specific to each jurisdiction.

**Financial Reporting and Analysis**:

- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports for each country, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in each market.
- Provide regular and ad hoc financial reports and analysis to the executive team, stakeholders, and investors across different African jurisdictions.
- Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to identify and mitigate financial risks in each country where Meat Naturally operates.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial laws specific to each jurisdiction.
- Collaborate with local internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements in each country.
- Provide expertise in international taxation strategies and ensure compliance with cross-border tax regulations and transfer pricing guidelines.
- Identify offshore investment opportunities to optimize financial performance and maximize tax advantages.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and legal experts to develop and implement tax-efficient structures for international transactions and investments.
- Recruit and mentor a diverse and high-performing finance team operating in multiple countries, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to team members in executing their responsibilities effectively in different African markets.
- Identify training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the finance team across various jurisdictions.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Business administration, or accounting advanced degree is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within a multi-country or multi-site environment in Africa.
- In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations specific to South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Lesotho, Kenya, and other relevant African countries.
