We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our development and deployment processes. You will work closely with our development, operations, and QA teams to automate and streamline our software delivery pipeline.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Design and Implement Automation Solutions**: Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to automate the software delivery process from development to production.
- **Infrastructure Management**: Manage and optimize our cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- **Configuration Management**: Implement and manage configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to automate server provisioning and configuration.
- **Monitoring and Logging**: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track system performance, detect issues, and troubleshoot problems in real-time.
- **Security**: Implement security best practices throughout the development and deployment process, including code scanning, vulnerability assessments, and access controls.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with development, operations, and QA teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reliability.
- **Documentation**: Document deployment processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain system integrity.
- **Continuous Learning**: Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps trends, tools, and technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on our systems and processes.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps role, with a strong background in software development and system administration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
- Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
