**Job Purpose**

The purpose of the Senior Technician role is to support clients by installing and commissioning equipment, doing planned/unplanned maintenance, handling breakdowns and repairs as well as servicing equipment as per maintenance schedules. It is crucial that all Healthy and Safety procedures are followed at all times.

**Job Duties**
- Install equipment according to OEM specifications and according to client requirements.
- Construct heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment safely.
- Upgrade and/or refurbish equipment where required.
- Provide maintenance according to maintenance schedules.
- Maintain and repair installed equipment.
- Test malfunctioning systems and components.
- Respond to call outs timeously.
- Provide regular status reports to client and Manager daily.
- Conduct quality checks on all work completed.
- Commission systems and equipment.
- Work with Procurement to monitor availability of parts, delivery dates, and approve parts lists.
- Ensure timesheets, overtime sheets and Job Cards are completed daily and submitted to Administrator to process quotes and invoices.
- Ensure Health & Safety Procedures are observed.
- Ensure that vehicles and tools are maintained.

**Qualifications**
- Trade / Qualified Artisan eg Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic, Millwright or similar
- Or Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar qualification (N4 - N6)
- Project Management Certification is preferred
- SHE qualification is preferred

**Experience**
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in the HVAC, heating and cooling systems, industrial refrigeration industry
- Site work experience
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Demonstrated use of tools such as multimeter, probe tester
- Demonstrated ability to read a schematic diagram, fault finding skills, wiring skills
- Knowledge of PC Boards and electronics
- Computer skills including Word and Excel
- MS Projects is an advantage
- Experience working with clients
- Proven experience sourcing repeat business from current clients
