AUTO24, the fastest growing certified pre-owned marketplace for cars in Africa, is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their new team in Johannesburg, South Africa.
As our Finance Assistant, you will report directly to the Finance, HR and Operations Manager and support a broad range of tasks including payroll processing, accounting, financial planning and budgeting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Financial Administration: - Support the preparation and processing of invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
- Assist in maintaining financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reports.
- Reconcile financial statements and assist in preparing financial reports as required.
- Monitor and manage petty cash transactions.
- Assist in budget tracking and expense analysis.
- Payroll, Benefits Management and HR Admin: - Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll and benefits.
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Help with onboarding new employees, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and processed.
- Maintain employee records and update HR databases with relevant information.
- Support employee offboarding and exit interviews.
- Compliance and Policy Adherence: - Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal regulations related to finance and HR activities.
- Assist in monitoring changes in relevant laws and regulations and recommend necessary updates to internal policies.
- Communication and Collaboration: - Maintain effective communication with employees and management to address finance and HR-related queries.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency in finance and HR operations.
- General Administrative Support: - Provide general administrative support to the Finance, Operations and HR team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and handling correspondence.

**Requirements**:

- Prior direct experience (3+ years) in a small finance team managing accounting and payroll in South Africa is mandatory unless you have worked for a Big 4 Audit firm
- Bachelor's degree in finance, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry in South Africa is preferred but not mandatory
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Quick books is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized with the ability to multitask effectively.
