**Job Advert Summary**:
We are currently seeking a **Raw Material Planner** to join our team in KZN. The purpose of this role is to effectively plan and implement macro and micro raw material procurement, delivery and staff to ensure a constant supply of macro and micro raw materials for production purposes. The role will be based in **Pietermaritzburg **and will report to the General Manager

**Minimum Requirements**:
3-5 Years experience in a manufacturing environment
3 year Diploma, preferably in Logistics or SAPICS.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Contributes to Functional Strategy into Action**
- Carries out agreed SIA initiatives by achieving team targets in function

**Operations Management**
- Supports Business Unit in the attainment of asset productivity through procurement and management of raw materials in order to meet KPIs and efficiencies.
- Reports on a weekly basis on actual KPI’s versus budget and work with team to address the areas of non conformance or concern proactively and timeously.
- Supports Drives Business Unit appearance and image through housekeeping of area of responsibility and frontline supplier interaction.
- Drives the adherence to stock FIFO and labelling in line with TIMS requirements.

**Raw Materials Management**
- Plans and Implements Business Unit raw material stock (Macro and Micro ) against target levels in order to ensure both financial and production requirements are met by:

- Liaising with Technical Manager and National Procurement regarding “Format” quarterly raw materials requirement and contracts.
- Collects all GRV’s on a daily basis and ensures they are matched to invoices and captured correctly onto Oracle and Agri Grain
- Issue order numbers to suppliers and feed finance.
- Preparing reports for National Procurement on Contract Status and Usage.
- Ensures figures are accurate and on time.
- Ensures Agrigrain is operating correctly and to report any malfunctions to helpdesk.
- Reconciles all contracts and ensures that each contract is accompanied by COA’s and Lab Analysis which must be signed off by the Technical Manager. From this information all claims must be formulated and sent to procurement.
- Performs standby duties on weekends and after hours to sort out issues that may arise in the Raw materials department that cannot be carried over to normal business hours
- Updating Mill stock sheet on a daily basis and investigating and analyzing all variances before reporting to Feed Mill Manager. Ensuring daily Mill stock sheet balances with Oracle at month end.
- Performing density checks to ensure accurate density calculations within the Mill stock sheet.
- Liaising with Spoornet and outside transporters daily regarding wagons and trucks en route to ensure suitable stock cover and to ensure a no stock situation never occurs.
- Ensures Supplier Complaints are resolved and managed in line with the requirements of the TIMS system.

**Manages Business Unit cost of certain raw materials and raw **material delivery cost by**:

- Obtains quotes and negotiating volumes for raw materials and transport rates for products that are purchased at mill level, this must be done in conjunction with national procurement
- Monitors and manages cost by ensuring efficient truck turnarounds and appropriate delivery times to cut back on casual and overtime utilization.

**Management of Safety Health Environment, Risk and Quality (SHEQ)**
- Maintains and adheres to maintenance of ISO 9000/22 000/14 000/18000 within area of responsibility.
- Implements all legislative and Industry Safety, Health, Environmental and Risk Standards within area of responsibility.

**Provides Leadership**
- Leads Raw Material team towards meeting strategy and targets - through regular communication.
- Conducts Raw Material meetings and ensure that records are kept and shared across the team and that action plans agreed to within team meetings are delivered upon. Ensures all other relevant meetings take place.
- Manages employee relations climate and ensure corrective action is taken where required in line with relevant legislation and company policy.
