**Purpose of the role**:
The Group Financial Controller will manage the financial effectiveness of the Group across multiple jurisdictions ensuring all controls are operating effectively and financial transactions are recorded accurately with responsibility for all financial and regulatory reporting.

The role will also entail the oversight of legal contracting requirements as well as the human resources function in collaboration with country partners and directors.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Provide accurate, timely and comprehensive financial reporting to the management team, board members and external parties where required
- Work with directors and brands to provide guidance on issues arising from this financial information and accounting treatment of judgemental areas
- Line management of a team of three Financial Accountants, with oversight of the Finance teams across USA/UK and Philippines which currently consist of 3-4 book keepers.
- Influence behaviour both within finance and the wider business for continuous improvement, particularly in areas such as cash receipts, cash flow management and foreign exchange management.
- Oversee all accounting procedures, financial transactions and systems used by the group (Xero, Quickbooks, Fathom) Manage the retail banking relationships as well as payment providers relationships (Stripe, Paypal etc.)
- Establish, implement and monitor the group's finance policies and procedures, incorporating both accounting policies and internal procedural controls
- Support the centralised finance processing operation, driving efficiency through process improvement and standardisation
- Prepare annual financial statements, tax returns and required regulatory returns as well as overseeing the external audit process and effectively manage the Finance team across multiple jurisdictions where applicable
- Ensure compliance with accounting and tax-related regulations, laws and filing requirements in all jurisdictions
- Ensure annual audits are carried out effectively and efficiently for all jurisdictions ensuring all regulatory requirements are met regarding the group's financial affairs
- Assist with the accurate accounting of operations profitability, including forecasting, management and operational aspects working capital required as well as capital expenditure commitments.
- Manage relationships and budgets of external service providers including tax, audit, secretarial and banking.
- Management of accounting systems and external support including month end close procedures
- Ensure the integrity of financial data on the chosen IT platforms

**Requirements/Competencies**:

- Qualified accountant (preferably a financial accounting focused qualification eg ACA, ACCA)
- Problem solving and forecasting business plans short term and longer term
- Experience of managing a finance function in a fast-moving, rapidly growing environment
- Experience of managing across different cultures, and across multiple jurisdictions/timezones
- Poise and confidence to operate at board level
- Eye for detail and diligence to ensure accuracy of systems and processes
- Proven ability to drive efficiency and process reviews across an international organisation
- Commercially astute individual, capable of strategic thinking and with sound judgement
- Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills
- Understanding of international tax regime preferred
- Experience in offshore jurisdictions preferred

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
