**Purpose of the Role**
The Financial Director assumes overall responsibility for Financial and Accounting function within the organization nationally, along with providing management and financial assessments and information, ensuring planning, budgeting, operations, sales and marketing activities to meet corporate goals of revenue and profitability.

The Financial Director assumes full decision-making within function. This role must deliver significant improvements in critical financial measures such as budgeting, cost saving, service delivery and other financial aspects as mentioned above, whilst ensuring compliance to local legislation and best practice standards within McCain Foods South Africa. The incumbent within this role is also required to collaborate with various functions within the business to ensure that revenue goals are met and budgeting are done accurately and feasibly to maintain profitability.

**Key Responsibilities and Performance Indicators**
- ** Financial Planning and Analysis**:

- Responsible for developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to guide the company's operations. This includes analysing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to the Managing Director and other executives.
- ** Financial Reporting** - Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial statements and reports. This includes overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, and communicating financial information to stakeholders.
- ** Cash Management** - Manage company's cash flow and ensure that it has sufficient funds to meet its operational and strategic objectives. This includes managing banking relationships, overseeing credit and collections, and managing investments.
- ** Risk Management**:

- Identifies and manage the financial risks facing the company. This includes developing and implementing risk management strategies, such as hedging and insurance, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- ** Strategic Planning** - Plays a key role in developing the company's overall strategy. This includes providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, identifying growth opportunities, and evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions.
- ** Investor Relations** - Communicates company's financial performance and strategy to SLT (company’s senior executives). This includes preparing and presenting financial reports and presentations and participating in investor meetings and conferences.
- ** Team Leadership** - Leads the finance team and ensures that it has the resources and capabilities to support the company's objectives. This includes recruiting, training, and developing finance staff, and promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

**Educational Requirements**
- Grade 12
- B.Degree (Hons) in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
- CA Accreditation will be advantageous

**Experience Requirements**
- Minimum of 10 years’ proven experience as Financial Director or similar role.
- Experience within Manufacturing or FMCG environment will be beneficial.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software. Previous experience on the SAP system will be advantageous.
