Our client is a market leader in providing professional, accredited and internationally recognized SHERQ services in various industries. They are looking for a Senior Safety Risk Specialist to join their Cape Town branch as soon as possible.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The Senior Safety Risk Specialist is responsible for the successful initiation, implementation, and finalization of Health & Safety for projects assigned to them. The Senior Safety Risk Specialist is expected to plan and conduct interventions aligned to the agreed service realization proposal accepted by the client and must conduct risk assessments, site inspections and audits as required by the project. The Senior Safety Risk Specialist must attend H&S meetings, maintain an H&S file to prove compliance with the OHS Act and where necessary NEMA. This will be aligned to each specific clients health and safety standards, also via cloud-based system and hard copy maintain these types of files. E.g. GATE 2s and the DFA Dropbox submission. The Senior safety Risk Specialist must ensure clear lines of communication with the clients management, H&S Manager, H&S team, and employees. The Senior Safety Risk Specialist must immediately consult with their Branch Manager should the client activities need to be stopped in the event of becoming aware of a risk or injury or ill health. The Senior Risk Safety Specialist must look to expand the Scope of Work by identifying areas of mutually rewarding interventions with each customer.

**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Management Systems:

- Working within a formalised quality management system, including procedures, document templates and reporting non conformances

Administration:

- Health & Safety Files: reviewing, implementing & maintaining
- Health & Safety Meetings: chairing or attending
- Reporting: completing baseline risk assessments, inspections, check lists & audits
- Monthly Plan: service delivery planning

Deployment:

- Health & Safety Representative

Health requirements:

- The incumbent is expected to be able to work in a variety of operational environments with exposure to:

- Computer work
- Fall risk
- Enclosed spaces
- Heat
- Noise
- Poor lighting
- Chemicals
- Electricity / power

**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Grade 12
- SACPCMP Registration as a Construction Health & Safety Manager
- SAMTRAC (NQF L5 SAQA USID244283 or equivalent)
- HIRA (NQF L3 SAQA USID120330 or equivalent)
- Incident Investigation (NQF L3 SAQA USID120335 or equivalent)
- Fall Arrest / Basic Rescue & FPP Implementer (NQF L2 SAQA USID229995)
- Legal Liability

**EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- At least 3 years experience in a similar position
- The incumbent must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as issued
- The incumbent can and will be expected to travel and work away from home for periods of time
