The Director of Research & Development (R&D) in the relevant Industry plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, ensuring product excellence, and staying ahead of industry trends. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in têxtiles, manufacturing, and a proven track record in research and development.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership to the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept ideation to market launch.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to create innovative and market-leading.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to the relevant industry.
- Implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance product quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Establish and enforce quality standards for all products, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to implement effective testing protocols.
- Conduct market research to identify consumer trends, competit or products, and industry developments.
- Use market insights to inform R&D decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to align R&D efforts with business goals.
- Foster collaboration to integrate customer feedback into product development processes.
- Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
- Monitor and report on budgetary performance, making adjustments as necessary.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards, ensuring all R&D activities adhere to legal requirements.
- Work with regulatory affairs teams to facilitate product approvals.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing R&D team.
- Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to enhance the team's capabilities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on R&D activities, progress, and key performance indicators.
- Analyze data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelors or Master's degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior R&D role within the relevant industry.
- Strong knowledge of têxtile technologies, fabric development, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

**Salary**: R40,000.00 - R50,000.00 per month
