**BOILER OPERATOR**

**LICHTENBURG
**Epko Oil Seed Crushing (Pty) Ltd is a progressive company involved in the procurement and**
**processing of oilseeds, the sales of vegetable oil and related products. The plant, with a**
**capacity of processing 220k/MT sunflower seeds and processes which equates to 25% of the**
**total sunflower seed harvest in South Africa, is situated in Lichtenburg.
**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
The purpose of this position operate the boiler in an efficient and legal compliant manner to

ensure continuos operation of the plant.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Operating the boiler within the design and authorised parameters

Operating the boiler as per standards and procedures - as contemplated in the OHS

Act.

Performing all scheduled inspections accurately

Recording all operating parameters as per the operator checklist and operating record

Emergency procedures and the activation thereof.

Boiler operation maintenance

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:

Must be in possession of a Grade 12 Certificate

Mathematics at Grade 10 level minimum

**KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: **

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a boiler operation or assistant boiler operator OR

Minimum of 4 years experience as a production operator/assistant operator

Excellent literacy and numeracy skills

Reliability and timekeeping is critical since the boiler operation is legal appointment
