**Responsibilities**:

- Internal Medicine Physician Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
- Drive growth and expansion of the scope of services within the department.
- Inculcate teamwork and a multidisciplinary approach to patient management.
- Support medical education as part of continuing professional development services within the department and the Institution.
- Teaching and mentoring of junior Doctors.
- Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate
- Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required
- As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion and/or education programs
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
- Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

**Basic Qualifications**
- A desire to make a difference.
- M. Med in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution.
- Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
- Experience leading and implementing change activities that drive innovation, enhanced employee relations, operational excellence, and competitive advantage. Develops tools to measure and report on attainment of such activities.
- Experience interacting with and influencing decisions of senior leaders based upon implications of human resources strategies and programs.
- Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
- Experience developing a project plan, including charter, scope, project management approach and management plans, such as the statement of work, cost estimates, schedule, etc.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external resources, including COEs, to identify strategies that solve organizational issues
- At least five (5) years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
- At least five (5) years’ experience of direct leadership and cross functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within/outside of the US).

**Salary**: R46,500.00 - R105,497.00 per month
