Boilermaker Assistant

**We are delighted to offer an exciting 6 month fixed term contract opportunity as an Assistant Boilermaker at our leading water treatment and solutions-driven company in Carletonville. As an Assistant Boilermaker, you will be reporting to the Boilermaker. Your responsibilities will involve assisting in the setup and maintenance of boilers and pressure vessels, carrying and positioning tools and materials, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. Additionally, you will be involved in the cutting and shaping of metal components for boiler assembly, as well as helping with the welding and joining of boiler parts under supervision. Moreover, you will participate in the installation and alignment of boiler components underground and actively monitor and report potential safety hazards to senior team members. **Requirements**:

- Underground working experience
- Welding certificates (advantage)
- Should have own transport.
- Valid Drivers license
- Completed Vaccination Certificate
- No criminal Record
- Medically fit to pass medical.
- Have basic engineering theory.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Detail-oriented
- Safety orientated.

**Duties**:

- Assisting in the setup and maintenance of boilers and pressure vessels.
- Carrying and positioning tools and materials for the boilermaker team.
- Cleaning work areas and removing debris to ensure a safe working environment.
- Helping with the cutting and shaping of metal components for boiler assembly.
- Assisting in the welding and joining of boiler parts under supervision.
- Operating machinery and hand tools as directed by the lead boilermaker.
- Assisting in the installation and alignment of boiler components underground.
- Monitoring and reporting potential safety hazards to the senior team members.
- Participating in safety drills and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
