Lease with clients regarding HSE compliance, approvals, and ongoing maintenance of the HSE systems/file.
- Visit and create a personal relationship with clients and contractors with regard to the implementation and maintenance of project HSE systems/files.
- Monitoring compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act as well as the compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act on all projects.
- Provide guidance and assist with incident investigations for reportable incidents as required.
- Facilitate and assist with DMRE communications, audits, investigations, and inquiries, as and when required.
- Identify changes that need to be made to legal Letters of Appointment and communicate the recommendations to the Business Partner HSE to ensure that these letters remain current.
- Facilitate the formal review of Health and Safety training to ensure legal compliance.
- Track developments and changes in Health and Safety related legislation, assess the impact on the business and communicate potential issues to the appropriate senior leadership.
- Regularly review the adequacy of the Mandatory Codes of Practice and recommend changes where relevant.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of external Legal Audits.
- Develop and maintain an inspection program for workplace environments, equipment, and practices in order to ensure compliance with MHS Act.
- Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance, and behaviour of designated support staff.

**Requirements**:

- SAMTRAC
- SACPCMP registered
- Registration as a Health and Safety Officer
- Strong communication skills
- South African driver’s license
- Reliable transport as travel will be required to multiple projects
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Safety Officer in a mining environment, preferably with a strong compliance background
- In order to achieve the objectives of this role, the incumbent should possess an exceptional understanding of HSE in terms of mining and industrial operations, including an intimate
- knowledge of all applicable legislation.

**Salary**: R30,000.00 - R35,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Bryanston, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Certificate (required)

**Experience**:

- Safety Officer: 3 years (required)

License/Certification:

- SACPCMP registered? (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 50% (preferred)
