Finance Analyst

**Job Brief**

We’re looking for a dynamic and intelligent individual who’s up for an exciting opportunity to come and join our Finance team. We’re looking for a part-qualified accountant with experience of data analysis, to join the business. You will be responsible for addressing the business needs for financial compliance, reporting and analysis.

**Responsibilities**
- Playing a key part in monthly financial closing to ensure the numbers we report are accurate - including processing and analysis,
- Suggesting and implementing process improvements,
- Leading the development and on-going execution of the company’s financial controls,
- Working with teams across the business to understand their operations and processes,
- Analyse financial results and find new ways of making the finance team more efficient,
- Create process designs for finance processes, focusing on automation and simplification/standardisation,
- Develop and run workshops within the business to develop process design, understand and identify process improvements that meet required business outcomes,
- Develop functional requirements for systems selection and implementation,
- Develop data models for finance,
- Assist in redesigning finance reports,
- Work with technical consultants to configure new finance systems,
- Support with testing across finance and end-to-end processes for finance systems,
- Work collaboratively with the project team, and stakeholders to define and agree a business case, business outcomes and KPIs that can measure success for tactical initiatives,
- Ensure "to-be" processes are mapped and SMEs and leaders are engaged to deliver defined improvements and measurable business outcomes,
- Deliver key communication content and training materials to ensure effective implementation,
- Take ownership of new ways of working on go-live and perform the required tasks at all project stages including design, build, data migration, delivery, and implementation,
- Support the change agenda,
- Assist with preparation and submission of quarterly, half year and full year results, budget and forecasts,
- Assist with preparation of variance analysis and management reports,
- Preparation of analysis and reporting packs,
- Support with financial modelling, as well as identifying and implementing reporting process improvement initiative,
- Implement best practice and standards when delivering analytics and reporting.

**Requirements and skills**
- An experienced accountant, ideally part-qualified through CIMA (or equivalent), with a strong understanding of internal and external financial reporting,
- Keen to develop your SQL/data knowledge, or have a keen interest in learning about SQL/data,
- Nice to have but not essential: Experience with SQL,
- Able to draw quick and accurate conclusions when analysing financial results,
- Comfortable with obtaining and analysing data to provide valuable business insights,
- Confident with accounting concepts,
- Disciplined and methodical in your approach to tasks,
- Comfortable with challenging existing processes,
- Well organised and able to prioritise your workload,
- Advanced MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel,
- An effective communicator in both written and verbal English,
- Mathematically minded,
- A logical thinker who is great at solving problems independently,
- Comfortable with analysing big data sets

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: R25,000.00 - R35,000.00 per month
