RedCat Recruitment is seeking a suitably qualified **MECHANICAL CHARGEHAND **for a well-established company, position based in the **KwaZulu-Natal Midlands area.**
Grade 12.
Minimum N2 qualification in a mechanical field.
Recognized trade test in Fitting / Fitting & Turning.
Person must be able to read / write / speak English competently.
Valid drivers license / own reliable vehicle.
5 years fitting experience in heavy machinery. Coal fired boilers, 500Cfm to 1000Cfm compressors,
centrifugal and piston type water pumps.
Previous working experience in a chargehand or foreman position.
Strong knowledge and understanding of industry mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities include supervision and management the safe and efficient operation of the boiler house, compressors, river pumps and services staff. Ensure all services equipment is maintained to an optimal standard.
Knowledge and understanding of mechanical drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, water and steam reticulation.
Able to work under pressure with breakdowns.
Practically inclined and can work with hands and tools.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
Ability to work accurately, neatly, and efficiently
Ability to carry out fabrication work (welding, grinding, and cutting).
