**Job Title**:HSE Manager

**Location**:Ottery, Cape Town

**Job Summary**:
The HSE Manager is accountable for leading the HSE department to achieve HSE goals in line with group targets. HSE Manager will act as a key influencer and change agent to ensure full implementation and compliance of both global and local strategies, ensuring an excellent standard of health, safety and environment is achieved and sustained. As part of the leadership team, the HSE Manager will work in collaboration with senior management to implement an effective health, safety and sustainability culture across the business units.

**Job Specifications & Requirements**:
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Registered with SACPCMP
- Valid SAMTRAC certificate and/or NEBOSH construction certificate
- Valid South African driver’s License Code 08
- Medically fit
- Working away from home to perform site audits
- Minimum of three (3) years working practical safety experience as a safety manager preferably in the wind renewable industry
- Experience in incident investigation
- Auditing experience

- Good observation and auditing skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Report writing skills
- Problem solving skills

**KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING**:

- Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction/installation/maintenance/working at height principals
- Knowledge of ISO 9001,14001, 45001

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Promote and assist managers in determining optimum working practices through risk assessments and work closely with your team to deliver effective management systems.
- Facilitate and lead in-house training with managers and employees about Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
- Generate and promote a positive health and safety culture and minimise environmental impact to a practical minimum.
- Perform risk assessment process and method statements and advise on risk reduction measures.
- Assist Line Managers to identify training needs and ensure HSEQ compliance as well as development and delivery of appropriate training programmes where appropriate.
- Take responsibility for conducting HSEQ audits and ISO Certifications as well as updating and upgrading our Integrated Management System and setting it up for the future.
- Ensure that all incidents, accidents, complaints and cases of ill health as well as environmental incidents are fully recorded and investigated, including recommendations to avoid recurrence.
- Undertake investigations to determine the cause of HSEQ breaches.
- Assist Executive Committee, Line Managers and Supervisors to formulate and draft policies, procedures and codes of practice to ensure the Company’s compliance with HSE practices.
- Liaise with industry bodies, agencies and similar organisations concerned with promoting best practice in the field of occupational health, safety and welfare.
- Provide guidance, advice and support to Line Managers regarding workplace assessments and any resulting modifications or measures to assist any members of staff returning to work following illness or injury, ensuring compliance with the relevant local legislation.
- Develop and motivate your team and support on both daily operations and strategic direction.
- Facilitate and lead key initiatives and projects in HSEQ, including campaigns and awareness.
- Provide insights into and pursue growth opportunities, set goals and track/report progress, including KPIs as identified and monthly HSEQ reporting.
