**5* Hotel - Magaliesburg, Gauteng**

A dedicated and mature Conference coordinator is needed for this popular 5* country hotel situated in Magaliesburg. As Conference coordinator, you will need to plan, organize and run the event seamlessly with a team. You should also enjoy upselling, as sales for the leisure side of the hotel is also included in the job and comes with a commission structure Please note: This is a live out position in Magaliesburg

**Requirements**:

- At least 2-3 years Banqueting/ Conference and Events Management experience in a 4 or 5 star environment (Essential)
- Good understanding of 5 star establishments and the standards expected
- A proven record of organising and managing events from reservation to execution.
- Good knowledge of Hospitality Reservations
- Can check and create reservations for events and guests as needed on a Property Management system.
- Flexible and willing to help in other areas of the business as needed to function as part of the team.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of stock procedures and control to ensure Events are run accordingly
- Excellent knowledge of planning, budgeting and departmental administration
- Relevant check lists and SOPs to be in place
- Amazing people skills
- from selling the event/accommodation/activity to the clients, to managing the staff effectively on day of.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and have a passion for working with people.
- Strong Sales experience required
- Someone who understands that upselling is EVERYTHING and is hungry for that adrenaline rush of a good sale.
- Very confident and Friendly
- Comfortable taking charge of Site visits and being the point person for the events.
- Only South African Citizens will be considered for this role
- Valid driver’s License and own transport

**Description**
- Manage and facilitate all conference & banqueting events to prescribed ensure client satisfaction is maintained at all times;
- Cost management - revenue generation, cost control, float checks, stock costs, assist with budgets, maximise usage of Conference & banqueting facilities;
- Operational management - customer liaising, Execution of functions, facilitate with function sheets, delegation and control of staff;
- People management - motivate staff, adequate staffing, IR, performance appraisals;
- Stock control - OE stocks & Beverage stocks, maintain & control stock and PARR levels, Reduce/Eliminate losses.
- Sales Management for events and leisure activities.
