Lts Swimming Instructor

**Position Summary**

A reputable Swimming School in the Menlo Park area is searching for a Learn to Swim instructor We are looking for instructors who are energetic, positive, role models, passionate and initiative-driven to join our team. Our Learn to Swim program offers swimming classes to swimmers of all ages.

Our swimming instructors are responsible for teaching a variety of skills fostering water safety, along with basic learn to swim skills which will ensure swimmers are safe in any aquatic environment. Our swimming instructors are exposed to clients of different ages, capabilities, and backgrounds and we are excited about the prospect of growing our team.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

1. Plans and effectively organizes class time for maximum practice.

2. Swim Instructors are responsible for providing a safe and quality swim lesson through different teaching styles and techniques.

3. Maintain records regarding class content and progress notations for students.

4. Maintain certifications required of the position and perform other duties, relating to utilization of swim facilities, as assigned by the Supervisor.

5. Creates an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all students.

6. Ensures and provides a healthy & clean pool environment always.

7. Swim Instructors should have a thorough knowledge of swimming and different learning styles for various age groups.

8. Maintains order and safety in swimming areas and assists in enforcing pool policies.

9. Consistent and vigilant monitoring of the pool is required to respond quickly, efficiently, and professionally to any emergency.

10. Prepares aquatic instructional equipment before classes begin and put away when lessons have ended.

**Requirements**:
1. Learn to Swim Certificate

2. Valid Level One First Aid beneficial

3. Minimum 6 months to 1 year of previous swim instruction experience

**Physical Demands**
- Ability to swim all FINA Recognised Swimming Strokes.
- Physically fit to instruct Learn to Swim Class to all age groups and categories.

**Schedule**

Monday - Friday (Further details provided in the interview process)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Commission based. Between R10k and R35k per month

**Ability to commute/relocate**: Menlo Park, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**License/Certification**:

- LTS (required)
- First Aid (preferred)
