Logistics Foreman

Kromco (Pty) Ltd, is one of the major role players in the pome fruit industry and situated in Grabouw. They have a vacancy for a dynamic, energetic Logistics Foreman to join the logistic team.

- Minimum Grade 12.
- Recognized tertiary qualification in Operations or Logistic Management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 2 years in Supervisory/Management capacity.
- Knowledge and understanding of bin handling in RA and CA cold rooms.
- Knowledge and understanding of inventory management.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Must be able to manage people.
- Be able to function well in a team.
- Good knowledge of Food Safety & Safety regulations.
- Be willing to work shifts

**Responsibilities will include but not be limited to**:

- **Fruit Receiving**:Receive fruit from Fruit Intake, Pre-Sort, Packhouse or other Cold Rooms.
- **Storage of Fruit**:Store fruit in RA and CA Cold Rooms according to fruit flow program and protocols.
- **Dispatch of Fruit**: Dispatch the correct fruit at the right time according to instructions.
- **Inventory Management**: Ensure accurate inventory and status of fruit on the NS Pack system.
- **Empty Bins**: Handling, cleaning and storage of empty bins on site.
- **Personnel Management**:Maintain discipline in accordance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act. Ensure employee morale remains positive. Address enquiries promptly and assist in identifying the training needs of employees in your team.
- **Financial Management**:Assist with cost management of the Logistic budget.
- **Equipment Management**: Liaise with the engineering department by providing accurate and timely information regarding equipment that is not functioning properly and could potentially break down or damage fruit.
- **Audit Compliance**: Ensure a safe working environment in line with the company’s Safety System. Complete incident investigations and make recommendations to prevent the recurrence of incidents. Ensure that Logistic Documentation and working methods comply with BRCGS Standards.
- **Innovations**: The incumbent is expected to develop innovative thinking that focuses on systems, processes and working methods to ensure continuous improvement.
- **Ad hoc Duties**: Do any ad hoc duties that may arise from time to time.
