Job purpose

The position will work closely with the Executive for Strategy and Business Transformation to lead selected key projects, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead the preparation of executive presentations for strategy reviews and management updates.

Duties and responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager/PMO Lead will:

- Drive is the establishment and implementation of best practices and standards related to project management, planning, and strategy execution.
- Take responsibility for defining and ensuring compliance with project management methodologies and practices as well as defining processes, templates, and project management tools to ensure the controlled delivery of key strategic projects.
- Manage the delivery of key strategic projects through its full project lifecycle, from initiation through to implementation.
- Custodian of the business case for all strategic change projects from development through to post implementation reviews.
- Deliver results, taking initiative to get the job done as per the business case, together with the required management of change.
- Ensure all operational readiness activities are undertaken in line with the SDLC and PLC, and that appropriate training and handover takes place ahead of implementation.
- Develop programme and project budgets to include staffing and operational needs. Monitors spend and project profitability.
- Prepare, submit, and justify project budget requests to the respective stakeholders for the forthcoming financial years.
- Take ownership of commercial results for all project streams and the overall programme and track performance against commercial projections, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the meeting or exceeding of projected milestones & objectives
- Monitor and direct day-to-day operations for several projects to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that projects are being delivered efficiently and effectively. Take corrective action as necessary
- Support the designated division in delivering projects according to the area’s prioritisation and overall LNSA prioritisation
- Manage the project reporting throughout the project delivery life cycle (e.g. Goals / Milestones / KPIs / ROI / impact / effectiveness) by leading the internal stakeholders to gather the necessary data points
- Ensure the reports and relating insights are leveraged in the program execution Project execution / efficiency management
- Manage project risks, and proactively liaise with project owners to alert for risks

Essential Requirements
- Top-end strategic problem solving, and large-scale program delivery skills gained in major transformations
- Very strong analytics and numerical problem-solving capability ideally gained in commercial (sales and marketing) transformations, digital, go-to-market, commercial partnership development in FMCG/Banks/ICT but also other consumer services sectors and a mix of consulting experience in leading strategy firm and corporate development/ strategy/ line leadership in major corporations
- Management and delivery of Digital Transform initiatives
- Delivery of Cloud-based solutions
- Mutli-channel digital technologies (incl. cloud based)
- Leadership of multi-disciplined/skilled delivery teams

**Qualifications**:
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Minimum of 4-year tertiary qualification (e.g. BBusSci, Bcom Information Systems/Informatics (Honours), or BSc Eng, BEng)
- Certifications: e.g. MSP, PRINCE2, PMBOK and /or Agile related training (e.g. SCRUM or equivalent experience)
- MBA or master’s advantageous
- Minimum of 5+ years business or technology management consulting
- In addition, 3+ years of dedicated Project Portfolio & Programme Management
- 6-8 years relevant work experience in a Managerial position leading strategy & projects with high preference for strategy consultancy background.
