**Bake with Confectionary Experience**

We are looking for a production bread baker to do large scale from scratch artisan bread baking at our awesome Bakehouse. Weekend availability required. Would highly prefer some experience in a professional bakery setting.

**Position Description**:Hands on large-batch from-scratch production of all bakery menu items, including artisan breads, rolls, sandwich breads and specialty items as required. Works within a retail environment with additional attention to providing exceptional customer service when needed. Contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**General**

**Responsibilities**
- maintain food safety standard
- planning production and work well under pressure and adhere to deadlines
- accurately measure and mix ingredients for baked goods and snack foods
- sorting and checking quality of raw ingredients
- filling pastry, glazing cakes and panning chocolate
- mix ingredients for cakes and chocolate covering
- bake cookies and roasting crisp items
- prepare and manage packaging
- train and manage assisting staff
- compile documentation for food safety

**Qualifications And Experience**
- Extensive knowledge of key baking techniques, including, but not limited to preparation of all varieties of bread and baked goods.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume production bakery highly preferred.
- Friendly and service oriented, with an interest in food and baking.
- Basic math and computation skills required.
- Skills to work independently, effectively manage own time and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills to adapt to the shifting priorities and needs of a retail environment.
- Skills to exercise good judgment at all times.
- Self-motivated, with high attention to detail, quality and presentation.
- Skills to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kuils River, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
