Barista Trainer | Pretoria Centurion | Coffee Company

We are looking for experienced **BARISTA TRAINER** to join the team of a well-known coffee company with the head office based in Pretoria’s Centurion.

We are looking for an energetic, social-minded champion of specialty coffee to support the coffee team in delivering training programs.

As Barista Trainer you will combine your people skills with a passion for coffee to support and motivate the next generation of baristas through training and into work and to focus on connecting with people looking for work with sustainable careers in the coffee industry, regardless of their background.

**Overview**

As Barista Trainer you will be introducing trainees to specialty coffee via barista training modules. In addition, you will be supporting the teaching and developing soft skills - personal skills that are key to being a successful barista.

You will take ownership of trainee development and collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure everyone’s progression.

You will also be instrumental in providing feedback to the coffee team to refine and further develop our training programs, both existing and new.

**Responsibilities**:

- To lead on the delivery of our entry level barista courses
- To maintain the training space, including stock control, purchasing and managing coffee supplies and equipment
- To work with the Commercial Manager on refining training programs and related materials
- To be an Ambassador for the Coffee Company, engaging at events, school tours and other.
- Audit and train existing baristas
- Team Training for all existing customers as required.
- Able to travel nationally to train off-site in other regions
- Working events, occasional weekend, or public holiday work

**Skills Required**:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a specialty coffee environment.
- Barista skills to an SCA Barista Skills Intermediate level - you don’t need the qualifications but just be operating at that level.
- A desire to further your career in coffee.
- Experience teaching/developing others.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
- An ability to work collaboratively, taking on and incorporating feedback
- Experience working to tight deadlines and managing a busy schedule
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PPT, E-Mail) and basic maths and English skills
- A commitment to social impact and a belief in supporting everyone to reach their full potential.
