Sagen Advisory Recruitment Company has an opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper with a background in Construction, to join an established construction management business in **Century City, Cape Town.**

This team of Built Environment professionals manages and monitors all phases of any construction project, including the organization of the required resources and consultants. Their services and expertise range from project and cost management to supplier management, interior design, and architecture.

This is a **solid Bookkeeping role** with opportunities to get involved in additional finance and operational-related duties. It will suit someone that is a go-getter, organized, accountable, and willing to go the extra mile to assist.o

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Accounting data entry for multiple entities - Sage 50c Pastel Partner.
- Processing and recording of transactions in Excel, then pastel for multiple entities.
- Compile monthly management accounts.
- Providing support to the accounting department.
- Monthly reconciliation of expense spreadsheets to bank statements.
- Monthly reconciliation of loan accounts between entities.
- Monthly balance sheet recons.
- Cash creditor reconciliations.
- Preparation of payment requisitions as well as maintaining a schedule of monthly payments due according to date.
- Accounting-related filing.
- Scan in and file (electronically) for all audit requirements on a monthly basis.
- Maintain asset purchases file, guarantees, and warrantee’s file.
- Maintain fixed asset register.
- Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
- Update and maintain annual leave schedule - monthly.
- Prepare monthly staff deductions schedules - monthly.
- Maintain and manage residential lease agreements.
- Generate monthly rental invoices.
- Municipal/utilities reconciliations and queries.
- Review insurance contracts and cover.
- Statutory reporting, i.e., VAT, PAYE, CIPC, etc.
- Assist with budgets and forecasts.
- Ad hoc duties as requested.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Matric.
- Financial degree, diploma, or certificate.
- Completed SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA articles.
- Professional Accountant PA(SA), Associate General Accountant AGA(SA), or professional qualification is an advantage.
- Qualified by experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Sage 50c Pastel Partner or similar program experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel user.
- Built Environment, Construction, Manufacturing, or Engineering experience is a bonus.

**Additional requirements**:

- Professional manner and strong ethical code.
- Ability to multitask while working efficiently and accurately.
- Sound Microsoft Office knowledge (excel, word, outlook).
- Driver’s license and own transport is a necessity with the ability to drive various company vehicles.
- Be in excellent health.
- Have no criminal record.
- Non-smoker.
- Be based in the head office Monday to Friday 7h45 until 16h45 daily, available to work one Saturday a month but on an as-needed basis.

**Remuneration**:

- R15 000 - R25 000 per month depending on qualifications and experience.
