- Development of People and Teams:

- Supervision and Delegation:
- Employees (subordinates) are tasked daily with duties as per the production schedule.
- Subordinates are tasked to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
- Monitor subordinate performance to ensure that tasks are carried out timeously and within quality requirements.
- Monitor subordinates’ timekeeping and attendance daily (late coming; absenteeism, etc.) and report reasons to HR.
- Institute disciplinary action against employee when necessary (verbal warnings; written warnings; disciplinary hearings; etc.)
- Provide “on the job” training to subordinates when necessary and keep record of such training.
- Control of Production Line:
- Attend daily meetings in order to plan production within the section and to report potential problems to management.
- Ensure that parts are ordered from stores and are available on production line to prevent stoppages due to shortages.
- Ensure highest quality of work produced to prevent reworks.
- Ensure maximum productivity to prevent unnecessary overtime.
- Identify possible production problems and find solutions
- Ensure that daily production targets are achieved in accordance with production schedule and that production of 60% or more is achieved daily.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously improve work methods and procedures to increase productivity and efficiency within section.
- Continuously improve quality outputs
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure that subordinates always obey all health and safety regulations and policies.
- Ensure that work is carried out in the safest possible manner and that no person is in danger when performing any delegated task.
- Ensure that all equipment used is compliant with safety regulations.
- Ensure that all possible fire hazards are identified and prevented (this includes packing parts in front of firefighting equipment)
- Ensure that walkway is kept clear of product, parts, and debris to ensure easy exit in event of emergency.
- Ensure that section is kept neat, tidy, and clean always.**Inherent Requirements**
- Grade 12- Production Management Diploma or Certificate (Would be an added advantage)- Artisan Qualification -Painting and Finishing (Trade Test)- 4 years’ experience in team leader capacity in Paint Shop- Excellent Knowledge of paint processes.- Knowledge of Pro-Mix system for paint shop.- Ensuring quality checks are done continuously to prevent any major issues and downtime.- Able to make quick positive decisions in times of crisis.- Ensure that SOP’s and ISO procedures are adhered too.- English Language (written; spoken and comprehension)- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office), Advanced Excel Skills- Excellent knowledge of production processes and principles- Understanding of company policies, procedures and disciplinary codes- Understand and adhere to company's code of conduct- Health & Safety statutes- Lean philosophy and principles understanding- On job subordinate training & growth planning and execution
- Exposure to continuous improvement projects- Ability to plan, produce, check and review production process and targets- Produce the right number of units, delivered right time, at the right cost, with the right quality- Ability to learn and adapt.- Ability to plan and be accountable for productivity and quality.- Continuous auditing of area and work been carried out, to ensure optimization of area.- Ensure that paint shop equipment is maintained in a safe clean manner.- General housekeeping in the area of responsibility, neat and tidy workmanship in station**What Qualification**
