Warehouse Supervisor

Our **Industrial Battery Client** is currently looking for a **Warehouse Supervisor** based in **Modderfontein**

**Purpose**

To manage both inward and outward stock movement whilst maintaining accuracy and integrity of the store/s inventory records under your direction including all associated documentation and recording keeping for accounting purposes.

**Knowledge, skills & abilities**
- Matric or relevant tertiary qualification
- 5 years related experience
- Knowledge of warehouse material handling
- Knowledge of batteries advantageous
- Essential customer service and communication skills
- Must be able interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals

**Key Performance Areas (KPAs)**
- Ensure suitable security and prevention of theft.
- Control off access gates and ensure limited access to unauthorized personnel.
- Protection of stores material and equipment, racking, shelving, forklift, ladders and other equipment including fire prevention equipment and safety and security of personnel.
- Efficient and economical material handling (inspecting, picking and packing).
- When stacking the high rise shelving utilizing the forklift, please ensure that the warning lights are switched on.
- Correct quantity and correct items to be picked according to the picking slip. No items to be picked without a picking slip.
- A copy of the picking slip is to be handed to the dispatch manager for processing after picking.
- All goods, when picking completed, must proceed through warehouse exit gate to the dispatch area. Warehouse gate then to be closed.
- The picking slip must be signed (in Red) by an authorized warehouse member stipulating the items and quantities that have been picked for dispatch. Ensure that an invoice has been raised prior to goods entering the dispatch area.
- Ensure proper labels are on batteries when specified.
- Any items showing stock but is not physically in the dedicated area must be reported to management. Ensure all receivables are checked prior to binning. All pallets to be placed in the agreed dedicated areas in order to avoid issues when drawing stock and/or when counting stock. This includes stock that is returned for credit.
- Warehouse staff are prohibited from climbing racks/shelves. Only step ladders are to be used.
- Ensure proper housekeeping within the warehouse and ensure a tidy and professional working environment at all times.

Liaise with sales to ensure adequate stock holding levels
- Assist in determining correct stock levels.
- Do not accept any stock or customer returns without the correct paperwork.
- Perpetual stock take is to be done daily on preselected items. Official stock will be done on a monthly basis as specified.
- Assisting in resolving stock discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate count. Ensure all stock is counted including dummy batteries.
- Attend regular meetings in order to discuss important matters.
- Ensure correct supervision of the warehouse staff.
- Notify management of any damaged batteries that may be found in the warehouse.
- Ensure that there is always one member in the warehouse at all times.
- Always be safety conscious at all times and adhere to the safety rules and regulations.

Salary between R13 000 and R15 000 depending on experience.

- Modderfontein, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
