**Purpose of the job**:

- The Foreign Buyer and Compliance Officer also negotiates purchasing terms and evaluate supplier performance.
- The Foreign Buyer and Compliance Officer reports to the Procurement Manager.

**Key Competencies**:
**Foreign Buying**
- Forecasting of stock purchases.
- Costings and price calculations.
- Foreign Buying i.e., Far East, Europe, etc.
- Source products needed at the best quality possible and minimise cost.
- Ensuring that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications.
- Negotiating purchase terms and evaluate supplier performance.
- Preparing purchase orders and agreements.
- Assist accounts to ensure that invoices are paid on time.
- Monitor progress on delivery time and resolving any supplier issues and discrepancies.
- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records.
- Manage supplier relations.

**Compliance**
- Good Knowledge of and experience with SABS rules, regulations, standard of requirements, etc.
- General duties and ad hoc tasks, projects and requests when required.

**Key Requirements**:

- South African citizen and ID, residing in Johannesburg.
- Current, valid, legal South African driver’s licence and reliable transport.
- Min 3 -5 years full function foreign buying experience in a similar role.
- Technical electrical or lighting knowledge and experience.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of procurement practises and corporate Governance principles.
- NRCS Compliance.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Highly computer literate, and exceptional advanced proficiency in MS office and SYSPRO.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential and necessary, and all tasks must be carried out to the highest standards.
