**Job Overview**:
This position contributes to Lift success by providing legendary customer service to all customers. This job creates the Lift Experience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Models and acts in accordance with Lift guiding principles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver an exceptional guest experience, connecting with guests to deliver quality handcrafted beverages and food during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs over tasks.
- Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food and Beverage Standards, all Lift brand standards and food safety standards.
- Maintain an on-going awareness of all promotional activities within Lift.
- Follow all Lift Barista routines to deliver a consistent experience for guests while driving efficiency and maintaining food safety.
- Maintain an inviting dining area for guests all day, every day.
- Engage with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Lift standards.
- Produce items to specifications on production cards and follow specific department routines.
- Complete and record all cleaning tasks in the workspace as outlined in Barista Responsibilities.
- Follow proper packaging and labeling guidelines for food products.
- Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to Ordering Systems.
- Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure an accurate recording of inventory.
- Provide a friendly and efficient checkout experience; tailor your interaction to guest needs.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.

**Job Duties**:
**General Customer Experience**
- Arrive on time for your shift and clock in immediately. Failure to arrive on time will result disciplinary action
- Sanitize your hands.
- Sanitize your work surface and all equipment before use.
- Greet customers by name, ask them how they are? Ask their name if you don’t know it:

- Ensure a customer pays prior to making their drink - failure to follow this proecure will result in disciplinary action

**Coffee**
- Check that the Coffee Machine, Grinders and Scale is on (Flush group heads and steamwands)
- Check your Daily Espresso Shot Dosing and log it on this sheet (Make sure grinders are dialed in correctly)
- Dosing Time
- Dosing Weight
- Make sure the Coffee and Sugar station is cleaned and sanitized throughout the day, make sure that sugar stations are stocked at all times
- Make sure the Condensed Milk has been filled up, ready for use.
- Fully stock items on shelves in the fridge and cupboards as per your stocklist. Move stock to first in, first out (ones expiring last at the back)
- Make sure there are enough lids and stamped hot cups for the next day, ready for use.
- Stock the cups, saucers and glassware up on the coffee machine, from smallest to largest cup and ready for use.
- Update stock list timeously, and respond to stock update requests from the operations manager
- Check if there is any stock on your stock list expiring in the next 2 weeks. If any, what item and when is the date? Report to Owner
- Complete your Order forms according to your stock list needs, approved by management and place orders.
- Make sure all the milk is in the fridges is connected to mains
- Check the date and taste the milk for the morning.
- Make sure the back-up water tanks are fresh / full (and ensure that the machine is connected to mains water before leaving).
- Clean the undercounter fridges (inside, outside and behind)
- Clean the milk jugs and scissors and store away for easy use.
- Backwash and clean machine after shop doors close with Cafiza, switch off and clean filter heads with filter head brush.
- Clean and soak a steam wand in Cafiza overnight.
- Empty the knock box and clean with hot water.
- Clean the porta filters
- Clean all the outsides of all machines and under all the machines (Coffee machine, Blender, Moccamaster, Grinders, etc )
- Decanted the coffee beans from the hopper and store it in an airtight container.
- Clean the hopper of the grinder inside and outside to remove all oil residue from the coffee beans

**Smoothies / Blended Drinks**
- Sanitize your work surface and all equipment before use.
- Switch on Smoothie Machine.
- Make sure the Smoothie station is cleaned and sanitized throughout the day.

**General - On Opening**
- Fill up the display cabinet with pastries and ensure name tags are correct. Check that there is a clean tong closeby to use.
- Fully stock items on shelves and in cupboards as per your stock list. Move stock to first in,first out(ones expiring last at the back)
- Ensure outdoor furniture has been put out, deck is clean and tables / chairs are wiped

**General - ongoing throughout the day**
- Make sure the bar counters have been cleaned, wiped and sanitized.

**General - On Closing**
- Make sure there are enough lids and cold cups stocked for the next day,
