Responsible to formulate project budgets, review all tenders, selection of tender proposals and generate EP proposals for approval.
- Manage projects from inception to commissioning and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Review and approval of project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans conferring with management and other operational departments in order to achieve project outcomes and ensuring no disruptions in plant production.
- Analyse and ensure that project specifications are implemented as per design criteria and specific operational requirements which are aligned to good engineering practices and standards.
- Constantly review project plan and schedule, to timeously update any changes whilst ensuring that all relevant changes/implemented actions are executed and give project reviews and updates to all relevant stakeholders.
- Responsible in ensuring that Contractor safety management is maintained and aligned to AECI’s Zero Harm strategy by way of maintaining good housekeeping standards whilst enforcing procedures, rules and regulations.
- Manage and taking lead role in Hazop’s and risk assessments and responsible to ensure that all process safety critical elements have been completed, tested and thereafter provide the necessary support and expertise to all operational departments.
- Transfer technical knowledge and skills to Production and Engineering teams and to ensure upgraded systems can be maintained and that the required support services are readily available.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- B Tech Degree, Higher National Diploma or tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Project management qualification
- Sound knowledge of Process Control Logic systems software and be able program and maintain such systems
- At least 5 - 8 years’ experience within a chemical manufacturing plant or industrial environment
- Proven experience in management of projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Sound knowledge of engineering principles and standards
- Sound knowledge and understanding of managing performance within a project environment
- Intermediate MS Projects
- A comprehensive understanding of the health, safety and quality related standards applicable to the chemicals industry.
