Maintenance Repairs Technician - Germiston

A Maintenance Repairs Technician position is available in Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa.

Our client, a leading Global Mining Technology company requires an experienced Repairs Technician to join their team urgently.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 / equivalent
- Qualified and trade tested “Red Seal” as a Fitter and Turner
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background
- Business Diploma will be an advantage
- Basic Accountancy will be an advantage

**Experience and Requirements**:

- 5 years’ industry related experience post trade
- Reside close to Germiston
- Computer literate: Advanced skills on Excel and other business-related systems
- Good written and communication skills
- Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s licence and the willingness to travel when required
- Stable work record and contactable references
- Of sober habits
- Fit and healthy as the company will require that you complete a medical

- Qualifications
- To perform repairs and maintenance on tools and machinery (Mining Equipment and technology services)
- Assist with stock control and general housekeeping duties
- Carry out special tasks or projects to support the operation of the company as directed
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Follow instructions and complete tasks Conduct planned maintenance of plant, equipment, and facilities
- Attend to unplanned maintenance of plant and equipment
- Coordinate and oversee all work done by contractors
- Coordinate and facilitate all CAPEX and optimisation projects
- Promote a safe work environment for all
- Critical spare stocks
- Assist with administration duties
- Assist with the review of the relevant documentation
- Manage and initiate maintenance programs
- Ensure the equipment and plant is maintained and serviced correctly and efficiently
- Exercise control over inventory and manage spare parts procurement
- To ensure the workshop, personnel and contractors are managed efficiently
- To ensure the workshop is always a clean and healthy environment and all duties are carried out with strict regard to company HSSE policies and procedures
- Assist with stock control and general housekeeping
- Special projects
- QHSE responsibilities
- Conduct planned maintenance of plant equipment and facilities
- Attend to unplanned maintenance of plant and equipment
- Coordinate and oversee all work done by contractors
- Coordinate and facilitate all CAPEX and optimisation projects
- Liaise with Production Manager with upcoming capital expenditure projects in the following:

- 3 quotes must be obtained
- Approve supplier of choice
- Ensure that project is well scoped, and that timelines and quality standards are met
- Promote a safe work environment for all
- Critical spare stocks
- Create and maintain stock list of critical spares that are required for the plant
- Manage stock levels diligently in that we do not run out of critical spares whilst creating lists of new requirements as opportunities are understood
- Assist with Administration duties
- Assist with the review of all documentation
- Manage and initiate maintenance programs
- Ensure equipment and plant is maintained and serviced correctly and efficiently
- Exercise control over inventory management and parts procurement
- To ensure workshop, personnel and contractors are managed effectively
- Special Projects
- Carry out tasks or projects to support the operation of the company as directed by Sales Support, according to individual skills
- OHSE responsibilities
- Problem solving skills

- Pump and Pipework installation experience essential
- Maintenance experience in valves, gears, meters, and instruments essential
- Ability to read and comprehend Manuals and Schematics
- Prioritizing and time management
- Experience in managing workshop and personnel
- Able to read related documents and interpret technical diagrams
- Familiar with electrical and mechanical processes
- Familiar with engineering services and processes
- Familiar with stock control and procurement
