Reception/laundry Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

- **Customer Service**:

- Greet and assist customers with their laundry drop-offs and pickups.
- Answer customer inquiries, provide price quotes, and explain available services (e.g., dry cleaning, wash-and-fold).
- Handle complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Manage daily transactions, process payments, and issue receipts.
- Maintain records of laundry orders, track customer preferences, and ensure that garments are labeled correctly.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries for laundry services, coordinating with drivers if needed.
- **Inventory and Supplies**:

- Monitor and manage laundry supplies such as detergents, cleaning agents, and packaging materials.
- Assist in taking inventory and placing orders for required supplies.
- **Communication and Coordination**:

- Liaise with laundry staff to ensure efficient processing of orders.
- Communicate special customer requests or garment care instructions to the relevant team members.
- **Maintaining Cleanliness**:

- Ensure that the reception area is clean and organized.
- Occasionally assist with folding laundry or organizing customer orders.

Skills and Qualifications:

- **Strong communication skills**: Ability to interact with customers politely and clearly.
- **Basic computer skills**: For managing bookings, handling invoices, and processing payments.
- **Attention to detail**: Important for accurate labeling and tracking of laundry orders.
- **Organizational skills**: To keep track of multiple customer orders and manage time effectively.
- **Previous customer service experience** is a plus but not always required.

This position requires good interpersonal skills, basic administrative abilities, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.

This Job requires to also:

- Sort laundry by color, fabric, and cleaning instructions.
- Inspect garments for stains, damages, or special cleaning requirements.
- Pre-treat stains using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Operate washing machines, ensuring correct load sizes and detergent levels.
- Transfer washed items to dryers and ensure proper drying cycles are selected.
- Monitor machines during operation for any malfunctions.
- Press and iron garments or linens, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Fold clean laundry neatly and prepare for packaging or delivery.
- Use industrial irons or steam presses for larger items like sheets or tablecloths.
- Regularly clean and maintain laundry equipment such as washing machines and dryers.
- Report any machine malfunctions or repairs needed to management.
- Monitor and replenish laundry supplies such as detergents, fabric softeners, and cleaning chemicals.
- Keep track of laundry orders and ensure proper labeling for customers or departments.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, especially when using cleaning chemicals.
- Wear protective equipment (like gloves or masks) when handling hazardous materials or large machines.

Hours to work:
Monday to fridays 08:00 - 17:00

Saturdays: 08:00 - 13:30 ( Rotation every second weekend)

Sundays off

We work public holidays.

Pay: R6 000,00 - R8 000,00 per month
