A reputable chemical manufacturing company based in Kempton Park has a challenging but exciting position for a suitably qualified SHEP Practitioner.

**Purpose of the job**

SHE Practitioner is expected to demonstrate detailed knowledge of health and safety requirements at operational levels, with the ability to support management identify relevant legal requirements and monitor continuous implementation controls. The incumbent must ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, National Environmental Management Regulations; and conformance to systems, policies, processes, and procedures as well as Responsible Care® requirements.

This role primarily focuses on ongoing development of onsite contractor management and serves as the primary contact point and liaison between the maintenance department, procurement department, project department, contractor, production department and contractor management division. The SHE Practitioner supports in the implementation of the company's and SHE strategy.

**Experience**
- Minimum 3 years Safety, Health, and Environmental Experience.
- Minimum 3 years Chemical Manufacturing Environment or similar manufacturing industry.

**Qualifications**:

- Matric with Science and Mathematics.
- National Diploma in Health & Safety Management or equivalent SHE training.
- Registered as a Professional Construction Health & Safety Officer under SACPCMP
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation training
- Legal Liability (Advantage)
- Environmental Law (Advantage)

**Technical Competencies**
- Comprehensive understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Construction Regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Mechanical and Electrical Regulations
- Knowledge of Regulation of Hazardous Chemical Agents (HCA)
- Knowledge of Risk Management and conducting Risk Assessments
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Responsible Care®
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
- Experience in conducting Root Cause Investigations (RCI)
- Excellent analytical skills
- Planning and organizational skills
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

**Personal Circumstances**:

- Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.

**Salary**: R400K basic annual salary, highly negotiable.
