Radiographer (Wits Ncdrd)

**Main purpose of the job**:

- Obtaining DXA, ultrasound, and peapod scans according to the various standard operating procedures or protocols as well as performing any accompanying maintenance and administrative processes related to this function

**Location**:

- **DPHRU - Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto - Johannesburg**

**Key performance areas**:

- Collecting study data involving DXA, PEAPOD, and or sonography
- Assist with other data collection - for example, medical-related questionnaires
- Perform scan analysis, Archive Back-ups, and ensure Quality Control
- Conduct routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures, reporting any deficiencies or malfunction to the appropriate manager
- Generate study reports for Researchers
- Take responsibility for keeping the department in general and specifically the work area, clean, tidy, and safe
- Have a flexible approach to work so that urgent cases can be facilitated as necessary
- Ensure effective and economic use of resources and report all occurrences of defects that may affect health and safety

**Required minimum education and training**:

- **National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (Ultrasound)**:

- **A valid driver’s license is required**

**Required minimum work experience**:

- **Registered with the HPCSA as a Radiographer**:

- **At least 2 years of working experience as a Radiographer**

**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:

- Advanced computer literacy
- Report writing and Attention to detail
- Willingness to work extended hours
- Willingness to travel
