Werehouse Manager

**Duties**:

- Plan and oversee the daily operations
- Create work schedules
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of subordinates
- Communicate with customers regarding progress or setbacks
- Deal with staff disciplinary issues
- Encourage teamwork in order to ensure that productivity targets are met
- Ensure that company policies and safety procedures are adhered to
- Responsible for scheduling work flow to ensure that import and export consignments are delivered on time and in terms of customer requirements.
- Ensure that import and export consignments are allocated the appropriate warehouse space and that consignments can be accurately retrieved for delivery to clients
- Implement and Control procedures to perform operational functions
- Ensure that Quality processes/checks are managed in line with ISO & OSH requirements
- Ensure customer satisfaction by problem-solving and selective personal contact
- Ensure that customer complaints are resolved timeously and efficiently, personally attending to matters when necessary to achieve same
- Provide special attention to new customers to ensure that their shipments are handled to their particular requirements and to ensure that a proper operations induction is implemented
- Prepare Cost Estimates
- Maintain and ensure expenditure within the budget and to control costs
- Continually monitor operational performance taking steps in conjunction with other Management to strengthen areas of weakness and re allocate responsibilities where necessary to maximize productivity and performance of the depot

**Minimum Requirements**
- Matric/Grade 12 Certificate
- Tertiary qualification in warehousing, imports, exports or shipping logistics
- 3 years experience in a warehousing and managerial position is a prerequisite
- Good communication, planning, organizing and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Deadline driven and able to priorities
- Ability to motivate staff to achieve targets
- High attention to detail
- Systems and procedure driven
- Strong financial skills
- Knowledge of finance procedures and budgets
- Flexibility with regards to time
