**Job description**

Job Summary:
This role involves working as part of project teams responsible for installing and maintaining wind measurement equipment on met masts The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for managing all aspects of the mast instrumentation, including ordering, installation, fault-finding and reporting. Travel from site to site and perform duties and is away from home for extended periods. Performing technician tasks while working at heights.

**Educational & Knowledge Requirements**:

- Valid driver’s License Code 08
- Pre-employment Medical Fit Certificate for working at heights
- Intermediate level in MS Office
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electronics
- Required to travel and work away from home
- Working at heights
- 2 years’ experience as a technician

**SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- Ability to identify and resolve potential risks in a project environment, in a processed manner consistent with company policies
- Good organizational skills, attentive to details and task orientated outcomes. Able to take a collaborative approach to tasks
- Ability to multi-task and perform tasks timeously and with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Able to work at heights and without undergoing extreme episodes of anxiety

**Core Functions**:

- Installation of all met mast instruments, including but not limited to anemometers, data loggers, aircraft warning lights etc, in line with company standards and method statements at height
- Installations of sodars and lidars
- Perform driving duties when travelling from site to site
- Working as part of mast installation teams, and working under the direction of the Project Manager on site as required
- Assisting with ordering all required instruments for new jobs, ensuring they are delivered on time for installation as and when required
- Controlling the stock of instruments in a structured orderly manner
- Building of logger boxes
- Programming of instruments
- Testing all equipment before leaving for site
- Fault-finding and maintenance
- Completing installation and maintenance reports
- Working closely with the international teams to stay up to date with the latest developments in instruments and installation techniques
- Complete adherence to all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements
- Developing and maintaining good relations with existing customers
- Perform other tasks within the technical department
