A reputable fashion retailer in Salt River requires an Imports Controller (Sea and Airfreight) to join their team

**Description**:

- Coordinate, consolidate, review and check shipment bookings for accuracy and efficiency
- Review supplier shipment documents (Bill of Lading, packing list, invoices etc.) to ensure completeness and accuracy including all deposit invoices and updating foreign vendor schedules.
- Monitor, record and communicate the status and flow of shipments into the country and timeous delivery to DC include timeous receipt of the telex release.
- Complete, submit and check customs clearing instructions and ensure that all the necessary. Documentation is accurate and included including 3rd party inspection reports where applicable.
- Review and cross check customs clearing amount for accuracy and liaise with freight forwarder for amendments if required.
- Obtain and review monthly shipping quotes.
- Review, update and circulate weekly status report ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Review and check freight forwarding invoices and liaise with freight forwarder for amendments if required.
- Obtain and provide airfreight quotes where necessary.
- Submit, follow up and monitor claims to freight forwarder for enroute losses / damages.
- Prepare and follow up reimbursement of quality claims and deposit reimbursement on final payment invoice.
- Filing of all import documentation in order to meet all SARS requirements.
- Ensure schedules are maintained and accurate.
- Ad hoc projects.

**Education Profile**:

- At least five years’ experience in an imports environment, preferably sea and airfreight imports within the clothing retail industry
- Sound knowledge of incoterms
- Finance diploma or higher (freight forwarding qualification would be advantageous)
- Excellent Excel skills
- ERP system experience would be advantageous, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
