Our well known Supermarket based in the heart of Chatsworth is looking for a dynamic and skilled butchery manager

**Purpose**:Be responsible for maintaining a well-run butchery team by ensuring smooth operations and positive customer experiences of the store.

**Job Summary**: We are seeking a Butchery Manager to manage our store butchery team. He/she will ensure health and safety protocols are being followed and will also monitor the quality of butchery products and be responsible for sales, gross margin, profitability. The Butchery Manager will also communicate company and department policies to their team as well as work closely to help achieve the group’s goals.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Estimate requirements and order meat supplies, negotiate with representatives from supply companies to determine order details.
- Ensure managers receive, inspect, record and store meat upon delivery, to ensure meat quality and safety
- Ensure the group’s butchery management team exercise hygiene control and maintain excellent housekeeping protocols in compliance with health departments.
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with your team and encourage mutual trust, respect and cooperation. Assist and care for co-workers and suppliers.
- Come up with new ideas, to build and improve the butchery management.
- Conduct on-the-job training and coaching to your team by motivating and developing them to achieve objectives & strategies.
- Purchasing, management and control of inventory; stock checks; exercise the first in first out principal and control wastage.
- Administration: Signing off on invoices, timesheets and checklists, draft duty roster.

**Competencies**
- Grade 12
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Prior experience of being a blockman
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Coping under pressure and setbacks
- Knowledge of first aid will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of meat market operations & hygiene and safety standards

**Experience**
- Minimum 5 years management experience within the Meat industry

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R10,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Chatsworth, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
