Our client is on the lookout for a Fitter and Turner who specializes in Batch and Continuous Centrifuges. Your primary responsibilities will involve ensuring the smooth operation of centrifuges by conducting maintenance, repairs, and performance optimization. This role requires a keen eye for detail, precision, and the ability to work in tight spaces. As our projects may take you to different locations, a valid passport and driver's license are essential.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Centrifuge Maintenance and Repair**:Your main function involves the meticulous maintenance and repair of batch and continuous centrifuges. Your objective is to ensure these vital pieces of equipment operate at their peak, maintaining their efficiency and reliability. You will diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring downtime is minimized and operations run smoothly.
- **New Installations and Commissioning of Equipment**: As when required, you will support an existing team to assemble, install and commission new equipment.
- **Component Installation**:As part of your role, you will need to identify faulty parts and install new components when existing parts need replacement or improvement. This aspect of your work demands precision and technical expertise, as the performance of centrifuges heavily relies on the quality of their components.
- **Workshop and On-Site Support**:You will collaborate with the client's workshop requirements, extending your expertise beyond centrifuges to support a broader range of equipment within the engineering sector. This means that you will play a critical role in ensuring the client's entire workshop operations run effectively.
- **Technical Expertise**:Your technical qualifications or apprenticeship background will be used as you demonstrate proficiency in fitting and turning techniques. Your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills will be valuable assets, ensuring that the work you perform meets the highest standards of quality.
- **Safety and Precision**: Safety is a paramount concern in this role, particularly when working in confined spaces. You will be responsible for adhering to safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment. Precision and attention to detail are not just important; they are absolutely critical in ensuring that tasks are executed accurately.

**Qualifications**:

- Technical qualification or apprenticeship.
- Trade certification as Mechanical Fitter and Turner
- At minimum 5 years’ proven experience as a Fitter and Turner in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in fitting and turning techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in confined spaces with high precision.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid Passport.

**Salary**: R20,000.00 - R35,000.00 per month
