**Job summary**

To monitor the operations of the business in order to achieve the company’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental requirements by ensuring:

- All products are designed correctly, efficiently, cost-effectively, and timeously.
- Design, manufacturing, and quality standards are implemented and adhered to.
- Staff skills, competencies, and efficiencies are continuously improved upon.
- The ongoing improvement and optimization of processes and procedures.
- Customer requirements are satisfied, and a quality product is delivered on time.
- A safe and healthy environment for all employees.

**Main duties include but are not limited to**:

- **Production**

**1.1 Production Control**
- Monitor and review manufacturing operations and processes in order to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Ensure all design and production processes are cost-efficient and effective.
- Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained and serviced to specification.
- Achieve a correct and on-time delivery target of 95% (HANDOVER).

**1.2 Quality Control**
- Ensure production processes, equipment being used and working environments are all conducive to producing a high-quality product both safely & efficiently.
- Monitor production activity to ensure appropriate manufacturing methods are employed, and that sufficient care is taken in order to meet both the company and client’s quality specifications.
- Ensure non-conforming product is rectified and/or repaired as the top priority, and that the relevant departments are informed of delays and/or repair schedules accordingly.
- Ensure Incident-Report & Non-conformance paperwork is raised and processed.
- Ensure raised Incident Reports & Non-conformance reports are evaluated and that any required amendments to design, production, and manufacturing processes are incorporated.
- Ensure finished goods are checked and found to be correct, complete, and compliant with all relevant specifications prior to despatch.
- Ensure all finished goods are well packed and correctly labeled.
- The carrying out of all daily inspections of components as they are manufactured, as laid down in the specific work instructions.
- These will include but not be restricted to:

- Drawings and cutting lists
- Sheet metal cutting, bending, and welding.
- Powder coating
- Pipe and tube Processing.
- Purging and brazing
- Expanding
- Pressure testing
- Final assembly
- Final inspection
- Departmental QC documentation captured
- The QC Inspector shall be responsible for maintaining all the quality records or control charts required by the above procedures
- If a process is producing products that are suspected or known to be outside of the company’s specifications, then the QC Inspector shall insist that the process is discontinued pending corrective action.
- The QC Inspector shall ensure that following corrective action, components are to specification.
- It shall be the QC Inspector’s responsibility to ensure that all gauges and measuring instruments used by him are in good condition and within their calibration period.
- The QC Inspector shall also be responsible for the administration of the quarantine areas and ensure that all procedures are adhered to.
- Assist with shop floor quality training.
- Each employee in the organization is responsible and accountable for his/her own safety and that of their work colleagues
- Comply with all Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies, procedures, laws, and by-laws that the company subscribes to.
- Each employee is responsible to identify hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures to address the risk identified and report these to their supervisors for follow-up.

**2.1 Engineering, Design, and Research & Development (R&D)**
- Ensure engineering standards are adhered to by all sales departments.
- Ensure design standards are adhered to by both the Drawing Office and R&D departments.

**2.2 Manufacturing**

2.2.1 Ensure manufacturing standards are adhered to by all relevant production departments.
- **Human Resources**

**Staff Training and Development**
- Be aware of and promote manufacturing best practices and performance standards.
- Identify individual training needs.
- Implement, monitor, and review personnel training and development plans**.**
- **Operational Performance**

**4.1 Development and Implementation of Operational improvements**
- Identify manufacturing improvement processes and systems in order to reduce inventory, increase throughput and minimize costs.

**4.2 Develop a High-Performance Work Force**
- Promote and uphold company performance standards and ideology (on-time delivery, quality, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, housekeeping, and work ethic).
