**Job Purpose**:
Waste Carriers has an exciting opportunity for an Accredited Driver Trainer.

**Job Objectives**:
1. Conduct a full induction with new drivers and upskill the current drivers to ensure they perform at the required standard whilst following the rules of the road.

2. Ensure drivers are trained on cost effective routing, fuel saving and safe and proper loading and offloading of their mechanism.

3. Ensure the drivers comply with the traffic laws while operating the vehicle.

4. Continuous assessment of Drivers when it comes to fuel consumption and driving habit.

5. Conduct a full assessment on proposed new drivers.

6. Maintain records of driver behaviour and track improvements to ensure drivers meet their kpi’s.

7. Ensure all incidents are investigated and effectively reported on.

8. Provide input for the development, revision, and evaluations of training material.

9. Continuous coaching and mentoring of Drivers.

10. Conduct relevant assessments on drivers which include in cab assessment, benchmark assessments against company requirements/policies.

11. Develop and prepare contract specific appendices (including Safe working Procedures and Planned job Observations).

12. Report on all training interventions and submit documentation (incl. attendance registers, and driver assessment documentation) on a weekly basis. Ensure that vehicle is utilized optimally and to address fuel consumption queries, driving techniques and other related queries.

**Key Requirements, Qualification, Knowledge and Skills**:

- Grade 12,
- Code EC (14) driver’s license with no endorsements with valid PDP
- Accredited Relevant Training - Assessor & Moderator certificate and registration with TETA is **essential**:

- Minimum of 5 years previous truck driving experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in training and coaching long-distance drivers
- In-depth knowledge of the operating and legislation requirements of the transport and logistics industry
- Knowledge of TETA accredited training requirements would be an advantage
- Experience in data capturing, report writing, accident investigation, employee relations and disciplinary measures
- Ability to coach and mentor colleagues;
- Excellent driving skills on heavy vehicles;

**Education**:

- Certificate (preferred)
