Register Nurse/senior Staff Nurse

The responsibility of the Register Nurse/Senior Staff Nurse is to ensure that care plans are implemented, and medical and legal risks are identified and managed. The responsibility includes managing staff to render quality care to clients by guiding and mentoring staff according to care and company policies and procedures.

**Key Performance Areas**

**Clinical Assistance**
- Implement and enforce individual care plans.
- Provide health education to clients and care workers.
- Conduct home visits and identify and report on any medical legal risks identified.
- Carry out procedure care and complete relevant documentation.
- Record any abnormalities to line management and update Trello on each visit.
- Be on stand-by as needed.
- Monitor and replenish medication and/or medical stock consumables

**Human Resources**
- Evaluate performance and do quality checks on the caring and service provided by care workers.
- Provide health education and skills training to care workers.
- Check completeness of daily reports and timesheets and provide feedback to HR Manager on any discrepancies.
- Correct any non-conforming behaviour and practises of care workers while on-site.
- Report any non-conforming behaviour or practises of care workers to HR Manager
- Update staff incidents on Trello
- Be transparent in the role and communicate problems experienced.

**Key Competencies**
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be in possession of own reliable vehicle
- Clean driving and criminal record.
- Registered with SANC and fees up to date.
- Computer literate (MS Word, Xcel, Outlook)
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of basic care plans.
- People management skills
- The ability to observe and manage risks.
- Effective communication skills.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Empathy for the elderly.
- Patience and maturity.
- Reliable, responsible and trustworthy.

**Job Type**: Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months

License/Certification:

- Nursing Council registration (required)
