**Job Purpose**:
The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to plan, implement, monitor and report on special projects as identified by the Head: Agriculture. This position is based in Elsenburg.

**Minimum Requirements**:
A B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Finance or related field; A minimum of 5 years middle management level experience in a financial management environment.

**Recommendation**:
Financial management experience in the agricultural environment; A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence.

**Key Performance Areas**:
Review the legislative mandate in terms of the public entities and resourcing of government farms; Manage and report on specific assisgnments as identified by the Head:Agriculture; Develop a funding model for external development funding, private donations and other investments from external sources; Provide strategic support to Head:Agriculture in respect of the 2022/2023 audit outcome and preparations for the 2023/2024 audit.

**Competencies**:
Knowledge of the following: Legislation, regulatory frameworks and policies of the Public Service; Public Finance Management Act, National and Provincial Treasury Regulations and other financial policies and legislation; Competency framework for financial management; Research methodologies and techniques; Project planning and management; Auditing; Systems that governs public entities; Policy development, strategy management, monitoring and review processes.

**Remuneration**:
All-inclusive salary package of R 811 560 per annum (Salary level 11)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
