An exciting opportunity exists for a **Packaging Fitter **at **NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED Isando, Biscuits**. The purpose of the role is to ensure that planned and preventative maintenance will be carried out as well as breakdown repair work on plant equipment.

**Job Specification**:
**Key Performance Areas**:
**Health and Safety**
- Continuously adhere to and engage in safe working practices.
- Adhere to the company safety policy.

**Maintenance**
- Carry out breakdown repair work on all plant and equipment.
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance schedules as required on mechanical equipment in area of responsibility.
- Perform planned shutdown work on plant and ancillary equipment.
- Contribute to scope of work for planned maintenance activities.

**Problem solving**
- Contribute to the investigation and completion of root cause & failure analysis on prolonged and repeated breakdowns.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on problem solving techniques to fellow workers
- Adhere to company’s escalation policy and procedure

**Reporting**
- Record all maintenance data (downtime, spares, and improvement recommendations) on Shopware CMMS.
- Complete checklists and take appropriate follow-up measures

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Experience**:

- Have a minimum of 3 years solid experience with High-Speed Packaging machinery working in an FMCG or manufacturing facility
- Extensive experience in and knowledge of working with pneumatics. Electro-pneumatic experience advantageous
- Experience with high-speed flow wrapping and cartoning machines
- FMCG Plant Maintenance experience is essential

**Qualifications**:

- Matric essential
- Fitter Trade tested at an Accredited Training Facility
- N4 Fitter
- Mechanical Trade Theory in Mechanical Engineering

**Additional Requirements**:

- Experience working with Robotic palletizers, stretch wrappers, modular and belt conveying systems, VFFS machines, case packers and case sealers.
- MIG & TIG welding experience advantageous, SMAW(stick) welding experience essential
- Excellent fault-finding abilities
- Good Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP, Pragma, Shopware etc)
- QMS, HACCP, and GMP Knowledge is advantageous
